Department of Jurisprudence

Northeastern University established the law discipline in 1923, which developed into the department of law in 1925, with lots of famous jurists teaching there, such as Shizhao Zhang . At that time, many outstanding jurists came together in crowds in Northeastern University, making it get very high reputation in the whole nation.

In the year 1993, Northeastern University reestablished the department of law, setting up the bachelor of law professional, which transformed into the Department of Jurisprudence in 1999. The Department of Jurisprudence was authorized to give the master’s degree of constitutional jurisprudence and administrative jurisprudence in 2001,  and to give the master’s degree of international law in 2006. In the year 2010, the Department of Jurisprudence got the master’s degree gift of the first level discipline of jurisprudence.

There are thirteen teachers working in the Department of Jurisprudence, including three professors, four vice professors and six lectures. The working staff have got the River Research Grants, the Outstanding Achievements of Philosophy and Social in Liaoning Province, Ms BaoYiMin award in Taiwan, Top Ten Outstanding Achievements of Law in Liaoning Province, Second Accessit in Young Teachers’ Bilingual  Teaching Basic Skills in Northeastern University , and the title of hournor on  Womens Federation etc. Teachers of the Department of Jurisprudence have been to Japan and the United States as exchanged visitors. The Department of Jurisprudence is it a team with reasonable structure of knowledge, age and learning-origin. It is a young, active and diligent upward teaching and scientific team .

The working staff have published more than one hundred expert and professional articles in Administrative Law Review, Contemporary Law Review, Law and Social Development and Legal Daily News ,etc. They have written or arranged over thirty textbooks and other monographs as editors or subeditors, such as Administrative Evaluation System Research, Generate Philosophical Reflection of the Historical Evolution, An Introduction to the International Private Law, Monograph of State Compensation Law System, and so on. They have undertaken more than fourteen scientific programs in national level and province level, including two Projects of the National Social Science Foundation of China, one International Exchange Fund Project, and one Project under China law society and some Liaoning Province Social Science Funds.
